Shenango China Ball Jug Pitcher, Gala Line, Periwinkle Blue, Ice Lip 8"

Description

This is a vintage Shenango  China Ball Jug Pitcher with Ice Lip.  It is from the Gala Line & I believe it is called Periwinkle Blue. This Pitcher is 8" tall to the top of the handle & 8" from handle to spout.  Overall, it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage.  However, there are a few mottled spots where the blue paint appears with some white as if it was not painted enough.  This could have been seconds being that there was some flaws in the factory color.  Also, there is a tiny hole in back where the paint bubbled & did not take.  See the photos below. Otherwise, it's in great shape!  I am thinking with the Shenango Mark on the bottom that this was one of their earlier Ball Jugs.  Shenango China was in business here in New Castle in the early 1900's.  It closed it's doors in the 1990's.  This is heavy weighing 3 1/4 lbs.
